Hunting Opportunities in the Willamette National Forest

From Detroit you are just minutes away from some of the best hunting areas in the Oregon Cascades.  Surrounded by the Willamette National Forest this area provides a huge area open to the public for hunting. Best hunting opportunities are for Elk, Deer, and Black Bears.  Access is easy from highway 22 to the favorite hunting areas.  Best areas: Breitenbush River Drainage Area,  anywhere South and East of Detroit like McCoy Creek, Boulder Creek, Big Meadows, And Forest Service Roads 10 and 11.

Deer: October 1 to October 14 & October 22 to November 4
Cascade Bull Elk: October 15 to 21
Bear: August 1 to December 31
