Reservations - Group Reservations

When making group reservations ask to speak to a special group operator. Groups requesting five or more campsites under a group or club name must appoint a group leader who assigns specific sites to group members.

Detroit Lake State Park does not have a specific group area. We assign campsites for your group next to each other or as close as possible regarding availability of campsites. When selecting sites for your group we recommend using the same site types because mixing can make it impossible to keep your group together. Camping loops at Detroit Lake State Park do not have a mixture of all site types in each loop. For example if you wanted a tent and electrical site next to each other, there is no campsites within the park which would accommodate. The Solution is, ask for 2 electrical sites next to each other. However it is possible to set up a tent in an electrical site and many of the electrical sites have nice tent areas.

If at all possible please make your group reservations 9 months in advance for the best results. After receiving your group reservations, as soon as possible, it is helpful to the park staff if you would send a list of who will be occupying the sites you have reserved.

Each campsite may have only eight people per site, this is includes infants and children. For each extra vehicles there is a charge of $7. Each site may have only one extra vehicle for each site.
