Phone Reservations For Detroit Lake State Park Are Made By Reservation Northwest

Reservations Northwest is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. The hours will be extended to 8 p.m., weekdays, May through August. Reservations may be made up to 9 months in advance or as close as two days before you want to camp.

Costs

When making a reservation, campers must pay the nonrefundable $6 reservation fee and their first night’s campsite fee for each campsite. This advance deposit holds a campsite until 1 p.m. in the afternoon, after the first reserved night.

Payment

You may pay with credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, or cards bearing these logos).

If paying by check or money order, your reservation must be made at least 10 days before your arrival date and your payment must arrive at Reservations Northwest within five days of your call or your reservation will be canceled. (If a weekend occurs during this period, you may need to use express or overnight mail to guarantee delivery of your deposit on time.)

If you have a coupon, rain check, or gift certificate, take it to the park; do not mail it as payment to Reservations Northwest.

Extra vehicle charges ($7.00 per-night) also will be collected at the park.

Confirmation

You will receive a letter confirming your reservation about two weeks after making it.

Changing Reservations

You may extend or shorten the dates of your reservation, or change the campsite you reserved, without charge. However, if you want to choose another campground or change your reservation date (example, from Sept. 4-8 to Sept. 11-13), you will be charged a new, $6 reservation fee. You must call Reservation Northwest to make changes and not the park.

Express Check-In   

We know that your time is valuable and taking advantage of every minute of your vacation is essential. That’s why we now offer Express Check-In. When you pay in full at the time of your reservation, you’ll receive a packet in the mail that speeds the registration process at the park. Note: Express check-in is not available until after 4:00 p.m. ( the standard check-in time). At Detroit Lake you will arrive to the park and will pull into the far left lane, stop at the express check in station, drop off you express card and then drive to your campsite.

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m.

Check-out time is 1:00 p.m.
